Fresh Catch Tuesday At Pickford's!

February 3, 2025

Welcome to Pickford's!!

I don't do politics. However, the tariffs are beginning to affect the price of seafood and many other items. In time we may see prices drop, or go higher, I just don't know?

Pickford's will be closed Wednesday February 5th. Time to visit the dentist AGAIN!

Fresh Catch Tuesday...

Chilean Sea Bass (Sea bass is a white fish that has a mild delicate flavor with a subtle sweetness that is similar to grouper or cod. The flesh is moist, buttery, and tender, with firm medium-sized flakes like haddock. Sea bass is an excellent choice for people with a sensitive palate that don’t enjoy “fishy tasting” seafood. On a flavor scale, this fish would be placed at the opposite end from anchovies or sardines.)

Fresh Bigeye Tuna A+ (Texture: Firm Flavor: Mild Suggested Preparations: Grill, Broil, Sauté, Raw One of the preferred species for the preparation for sashimi. With a high fat content, it is also among the most desirable species for grilling.

Fresh Cold-Water Scallops

Fresh Icelandic Cod Loin (Icelandic Cod Loin is a mild fish that adapts well to all types of flavors and cooking techniques. It is a favorite no matter if served on its own, breaded, battered or with a sauce. Icelandic cod is higher in fat and is sweeter than Pacific cod varieties thanks to its diet of shellfish, crustaceans and small fish.)

Fresh Virginia Flounder (Flounder has a mild, sweet taste with a delicate texture. It is often compared to other white fish like sole or cod, but with a slightly more delicate flavor profile.)

Unagi (Fresh water eel)

Tako (Octopus tentacles)

And so much more!!

Best to all!
